Stencil Set Sensory Motor Pathways
with Curriculum Materials

Locomotor skills are the foundation of large muscle movements and the cornerstone of gross motor coordination. There are eight basic locomotor movements which include: walk, run, hop, jump, gallop, skip, leap and slide.

Research suggests that once a child can walk and run comfortably then he/she is ready to learn the other 6 movements. Research from the University of Michigan suggests that these skills should be learned between 2-7 years. (SPACE NEEDED -approximately 1/2 a basketball court. You can paint multiple designs for each of the game activities. )

5 Pack Stencil Set

Use our stencils to layout your outdoor learning area that helps students learn the locomotor skills of : walking, running, galloping, skipping, leaping, jumping and sliding. New rollout paper stencils make application a breeze. No measuring! Just roll out the full-size activity stencils, chalk, and paint.

*See how our Full-Size-Roll-Out-Stencils work by watching a video here.

Painted markings allow for time to practice activities when outside at physical education, recess or after-school.

taping feet with painters tape 1

Step 2- Painter’s tape to outline feet makes painting easier if you wish. Painting with a paint brush is perhaps easier for most people and tape outlining is not necessary.

painting feet in crossover walking

Step 3- Paint in the feet and you’re finished. Painting in the background inside the crossover walking grid isn’t necessary but preferred by some to bring additional color to the playground.

Remove the tape and enjoy. Slide stencil to the side to paint another crossover walking grid.

Color choices are optional. We recommend primary colors to keep paint selection at a minimum. Some schools prefer their school colors.
