Many schools are adopting a Growth Mindset approach to teaching and learning. My presentation includes Carol Dweck’s research on the two mindsets (fixed & growth). Drawing on my teaching experience as a physical educator (general & adapted) I identify what these mindsets look like in the PE setting and how to make minor adjustments to help students adopt a growth mindset in all learning environments. The I can’t, and lack of motivation to participate is evident at all levels. I offer strategies to create a learning environment that all students of all abilities will not only succeed but also enjoy. This presentation addresses SEL as well as Growth Mindset teaching strategies.

Comfortable Cafeterias – Dayle Hayes

School Meals that Rock

Why should schools strive to support pleasant and positive mealtimes vs. just getting the students fed? When a school cafeteria is comfortable, students eat better, do better in class, and have fewer behavioral problems.

Dayle Hayes, award-winning author, educator, and nutrition coach from Montana will address a variety of positive mealtime practices in the cafeteria.

A positive approach requires effective teamwork and communication among administrators, teachers, aides, school nurses, school food service staff, students, and parents. We encourage you to participate in this webinar with others in your school building.
